Sandy Kim
About Sandy Sandy's range of experience with COD has given her a well-developed perspective on many different areas of the college. As a full-time, non-traditional student she served as the President of the Student Leadership Council, founded both the C.O.D. Veterans Association and the Collegiate Council (a concept for engaging student leaders in dialogue), and has a history of experience with Faculty, Students, Staff, Administration and community members. Over the course of the past two years, Sandy Kim has been advocating in Springfield and in Washington on behalf of the college. Her passion for civic engagement and her deep respect for this institution where she has acted as student, leader, staff member, advocate, and concerned community member has led her to the desire to help represent your voice by volunteering her time to help steer the College of DuPage into the future.

Sandy's Platform

Bring the focus back to the students

  • Ensure that C.O.D. IS student-centered
  • Education is NOT business

Listen to the voices of ALL stakeholders

  • Stakeholders are the ones most affected by instability. Let them speak…
  • Balance responsibility to the public with responsibility to the College

Lobby for C.O.D…

  • Trustees must represent the College to lawmakers and community leaders.
  • Lack of state funding results in increased taxes and tuition.

Whatever happened to the Mission, Vision, Values

  • C.O.D. is long overdue for an overhaul of MVV.
  • All the work that took place last year was put on hold, indefinitely.

Be good stewards of tax-payer money and student tuition

  • Almost 90% the $140 million budget comes from taxes and tuition.
  • $300 million FMP budget ($189 million referendum).
